Pray for Peace

John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Father we pray for all those who are being martyred for their faith and we thank you for those You have em-powered to stand strong witnessing to Your grace and strength.

We ask that You would send the Holy Spirit down upon all individuals in positions of power, and pray that their hearts and minds will turn to paths of peace. Put an end to the destruction, needless suffering and pain being caused by misuse of power.

We pray for our brothers and sisters who are subjected to hostilities from their governments, terrorists, family, or extreme social pressure.  Pray for strength and wisdom to cope with the pressures against faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that their faith be encouraged giving them the wisdom to discern the right timing and words in risky situations.

We pray for our troops who are in intense encounters right now.  Father, guide every step and decision they make in these crucial situations.  Give them the knowledge of when to move and when to stay still.  Give them the power to overcome the enemy and remain safe.  We pray for protection and that Psalm 91 will comfort and uphold them. We ask that no weapon formed against them will prosper and for all to come to a saving knowledge of You.

In Jesus name we pray.  Amen
