Marian Waltho

Marian, along with her husband Ken moved from Fareham, Hampshire, England in 1981 to Calgary. Later, they bought land in West Bragg Creek and had a house built. Then in 2009 (in their 40th wedding anniversary year!), they moved to Okotoks and sought out St. Peter’s. They feel very much home in this church.

Marian was the Director of Nutrition and Food Service in a nursing home in Calgary which later led to a catering business. She also ran a B ‘n B out of their Bragg Creek home for several years. She enjoys entertaining, sewing, gardening, music and reading fiction novels.
She loves to travel and has been to the Caribbean, Italy, Mexico, lots of the U.S., Spain, the Panama Canal, Nicaragua and particularly enjoys cruises. They have 2 daughters, Valerie and Nichola who live nearby.
Marian’s primary ministry at St. Peter’s is in the area of hospitality. She can be depended on to beautifully prepare for any dinners, lunches, funerals, teas and whatever else we may have going on that involves food. She volunteers often to prepare our fellowship time snacks and looks after making sure they are put out each week.
Marian also comes in once every week to make sure the kitchen is clean. We are so grateful and give thanks for Marian’s devotion to this vital ministry.
