Prayers for Revival and Spiritual Awakening

REVIVAL 0

Jane provided these prayers at our Spring conference. 2015

Ask God to bring deep conviction of sin, spiritual brokenness, a holy fear of God and genuine repentance among His people.

2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Pray for a spirit of brokenness and humility to confess sin and disobedience.

Psalm 51:17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise

Pray for deep cleansing, genuine repentance, and spiritual power to engulf pastors and Christian leaders, so that they may bold in their preaching to stir up the people.

Ephesians 6:19-20 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Pray for God to bestow spiritual hunger in His people and draw them to fervent intercession.

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Pray that a lament will come forth and that travail will come upon the prayers of the people until revival is birthed in the church.

Galatians 4:19 My little children, for whom I am again suffering birth pangs until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you,

Isaiah 42: 13-14 The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. For a long time I have kept silent, I have been quiet and held myself back. But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant."

Pray for a spirit of love and unity in our churches and a deep harmony between our churches.

1 Peter 3:8 finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

John 17:23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

Pray for God to fill His people with a passion to see people saved.

Romans 9:1-3 I speak the truth in Christ – I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit – I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race,

Pray for a revival of a passion for the lost and for missions

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Pray that God will visit His people in extraordinary ways ask for a hunger for more of His presence

Exodus 33: 15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

Pray that God will pour out His Spirit like a mighty purifying flood. Ask God to purify our motives as we pray for revival. Pray that we would not ask for selfish reasons, but for the increase of the Kingdom of God.

1 John 5:14 (AMP) 14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

Pray for a renewal of spiritual power and an understanding of how to minister in the power that is in us.

Ephesians 1:19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

Pray for fiery preachers who will pray with power to stir up the hearts of the peopleand pray that God will confirm their words with signs following.

1 Corinthians 2:3-5 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Mark 16:20 (AMP) And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it).

Revival comes when a people humble themselves pray and seek God’s face

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Hosea 10:12  Sow righteousness for yourselves,   reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground;   for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes  and showers his righteousness on you.

Revival will not come without a people giving birth in prayer like Elijah

We need to ask ourselves are you willing to respond in prayer?  Are you willing to personally seek God for revival?  It is time to pray!

To break up the fallow ground of our hearts, we must begin by looking closely at our own life.  Examine and note the state of our walk with God.

We need to begin to take inventory.  We need to write down on those sins that so easily beset from running the race. And ask for the power of the Blood of Jesus to cleanse us.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Ps 85:6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

Isa 64:1-3 Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!

Hab 3:2-6 LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy
