Guided By Jesus

Hi Folks, let me introduce myself, I'm the Reverend Cedric Parsons, (retired)

I know you would believe it by looking at my photo but I'm getting a" little long in the tooth!" well the truth is I haven't any! I'm old and in today's values past it! And of not much use, In some folks eyes that is! My muscles ache, those I still have, my bones ache, and my neck aches! Do you know why my neck aches? I have been trying to copy the younger generation, I got me a smart phone, with a GPS tracker on it, (Satellite Navigation) I've been walking around like the young ones do head down studying the screen! And following the direction of this smart phone! Listening to it's voice, "walk 50 metres, then turn left walk another 100 metres and turn right, you are at your destination!" Only I'm not, I'm lost, and in the process I nearly got run over by a car, I tripped on the sidewalk and hurt my knees, how crazy to think the world looks better through the screen of a not so smart phone!! When you can actually look up and the wonder of God's creation, and see it in reality how much better it is, and what's wrong with a proper map and compass for finding your way around, to find your destination and direction and see the whole picture and get your bearings as to where you are rather than a concentrated small area on a small screen which aint so easy to see with failing eyes!, and what's more you don't get neck ache!

Many it seems to me today are head down listening to the wrong voice and losing touch with reality, when in reality we old ones might have some wisdom to share, did you know we can get guidance and direction for life by listening to the voice of God, and we can hear that in the scriptures guided by the still small voice of God the Holy Spirit, the bible is full of advice, everything we will ever need to know to enjoy our walk through life with God, to live long and well, to get to know the author and listen to a smart voice, his voice, Jesus. If you don't it might not be a stiff neck and sore knees, it might far worse, just telling like it is.
